When asked to design corporate swag, I strive to create something more strategic than the typical branded water bottle. While the purpose and design of these projects can vary widely, all of my clients received the same service: thoughtful consideration of their end goal and physical communication of their brand identity.
SUPER Skate Pack
Three-piece staff holiday gift including windbreaker, grip tape and skateboard
A holiday gift set for the leadership team at SUPER, a Biz Stone social media venture, celebrating the company's first anniversary.
To convey the app's joyful experience, their style guide radiates energy with bold, neon colors and all-caps type. I aimed to capture that energy in a gift that signified being outside and experiencing the world at a rapid pace.
Inspired by the superlative prompts that begin each SUPER post, I translated the digital experience of the product into a bold, colorful skateboard-themed gift set. Once the company leadership received their skate packs, I was flooded with requests from staffers who wanted packs of their own.
dreamworks crew gift
Commemorative glass and photos for Mr. Peabody & Sherman milestone event
Dreamworks Animation organizes milestone celebrations for their crew at significant points during the production process. During the production of Dreamworks Animation's Mr. Peabody & Sherman, I worked with the production leadership to create a day of games themed after the film. I was asked to design an event logo and a commemorative glass given to employees who participated in all seven games in addition to leading the production design of all game-related assets.
I designed the glass by converting the film's 3D raster logo into 2D vector letterforms. Working with our vendor, I selected the proper cocktail glass, inspired by drinkware used by Mr. Peabody in the film. For the event signage and promotional materials, I created a party logo by illustrating the additional letterforms needed to spell the "Mr. Peabody & Sherman Halfway Party" event title. The stacked logo was adapted to a horizontal layout for the event's photo booth strips.
All 250+ Northern California employees attended the event and the leadership succeeded in demonstrating their appreciation for the crew as the team headed into the second half of production.
BoX Team Patch
Embroidered patch design to accompany team backpacks
Enterprise content management platform Box enlisted me to design an embroidered patch for their Productivity Engineering team.
I worked with a Box PE team member to flush out a symbol representative of the department. After some deliberation, we landed on a sextant, a nautical tool used to guide ships by the night sky. In reference images, the round index mirror at the top of the sextant resembled the "o" in the Box logo. I integrated the company logo into our sextant illustration to convey the team's role as an internal guide for the company. Once the team symbol was complete, I took inspiration from NASA mission patches to complete the design.
While originally created specifically for a patch on team backpacks, the sextant logo became the official logo of the Productivity Engineering team. The PE team leader was celebrated by other team leaders for the clever design.
